Biography
Mário is Full-Professor, of information systems and operations management, and Vice-President of the School Council (Conselho de Escola) of ISEG - ULisboa. He is also Quantum Technology Leader at Deloitte Portugal, Head of the Portuguese Quantum Innovation Centre of the Portuguese Quantum Institute, and member of the General Board of the European Club for Information Systems Governance. He is also one of the director of the Master in Data Analytics for Business of ISEG.
Holds a PhD in Management Information Systems, from Cranfield University (UK), an MBA (with master’s degree) and a Bachelor’s degree, in management, from ISEG. Own the Awards of Best PhD student in Management, at Cranfield University, and Best MBA student, at ISEG.
Mário was President (2014–2017) and Vice-President of ISEG (2009–2014), Chairman of the Board of IDEFE (2014–2019), President of the Information Institute, USA (2009–2010), Vice-President of the Portuguese Quantum Institute (2021–2024), and Coordinator of the PhD Program in Management at ISEG (2005–2017).
Mário served as member of the selection jury for the Judges of the Portuguese Court of Auditors (Tribunal de Contas) and as a member of the Editorial Board of the academic journal Information & Management. He has published more than 50 articles in academic journals and conferences.
