In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Order of Economists will award the title of Economist Emeritus to those who have distinguished themselves by having pursued a professional and civic career of recognised merit.
In this context, the Order of Economists has proposed the award of this title to João Ferreira do Amaral, an alumnus and professor at ISEG, for his outstanding career in academia and research, as well as for his extensive civic intervention in the service of Portugal.
The event will take place at the school of Economics and Management, Universidade de Lisboa (ISEG) and will be attended by the Honoree and all those who wish to contribute to this distinction with their presence.

The Rectory of the University of Lisbon is promoting an inter-school alumni meeting, the World Café, on 27th September, at 18.00, in Noble Hall of the University of Lisbon.
The aim is to promote involvement, sharing and dialog between everyone.

This event is part of a Cycle of Tributes to outstanding Economists and Managers as part of the Commemorations of the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Order of Economists.

The award ceremony takes place at the Money Museum.
The delay in awarding the 2020 prize to Marta Rosado da Fonseca was due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The awarded work corresponds to the Master's Final Paper that was presented and discussed within the scope of the MEPP. "The award of this prize is a recognition of the quality of education provided at ISEG and of the Masters in Economics and Public Policy", says the coordinator of the MEPP, Carlos Farinha Rodriguesfor whom the award of this prize is an "honour for the School".
This initiative, which was established in 1996 and is sponsored by the Bank of Portugal, also distinguished with an Honorable Mention four other academic research works on relevant topics in the European Union

On the 28th of February, between 17:00 and 18:30, the Ordem dos Economistas and ISEG co-organize in the Salão Nobre of ISEG, a Tribute Session to Francisco Murteira Nabo, where he will be awarded the title of Economist Emeritus, in the presence of the Minister of the Sea and Economy, António Costa Silva. The event also counts on the participation of the Chairman of the Order of Economists and ISEG professor, António Mendonça.
Francisco Murteira Nabo, graduated in Economics from ISCEF (today designated ISEG), was President of the Order of Economists between 2002-2008. Among many other important positions, he was Alderman of the Lisbon City Council, Secretary of State for Transport and Minister for Social Equipment. In the area of business management, among other positions, we highlight those of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Companhia Portuguesa Rádio Marconi, of Portugal Telecom and of Galp Energia, as well as Vice-Chairman of Sorefame, Nacional and Executive Director of Ambelis and Imoleasing (1997/2012).
