On April 27, a ceremony will be held to pay tribute to Professor
José Maria Brandão de Brito on the occasion of his jubilation.
Professor José Maria Brandão de Brito has a deep connection to ISEG and the University of Lisbon, formerly the Technical University of Lisbon, which, particularly as a lecturer, has lasted almost uninterruptedly since 1971. In this context, he has held important positions, namely as Chairman of the Economics Department, two terms as Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives, one with the mission of changing the School's statutes, and Vice-Rector of UTL. Having been one of the founders of CISEP, he carried out and conducted research on the Portuguese economy in the 20th century, with emphasis on the processes of industrialization and European integration. At the same time, he held important public positions as an advisor in ministerial offices, was Vice-President of TAP and Chairman of the Board of RTP.
The Tribute Dinner on April 27 will take place in the Salão Nobre of the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, Rua do Quelhas 6, starting at 19.30.
The Rector of the University of Lisbon, Professor António Cruz Serra, and Ambassador Francisco Seixas da Costa will speak on the occasion.
