Registration is now open for the International Workshops organized by the Directorate-General for the Arts, in partnership with the National Theatre of São João and the Higher Institute of Economics and Management.

This workshop, dedicated to the theme "Communication and Marketing for the Arts Sector", will take place on May 7 in Lisbon, at the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, and on May 9 in Porto, at the Monastery of São Bento da Vitória - Teatro Nacional de São João, with trainer Adam Thurman, president of Mission Paradox, a marketing and branding consulting firm and marketing director of one of the largest theaters in the Midwest region of the USA.


OBJECTIVES

Aware of the challenges faced by cultural agents in the management of their activity, DGArtes intends to support and promote the valorization and professional training of agents in the arts sector in Portugal. The fundamental objectives are to provide the Portuguese artistic community with an opportunity to debate ideas and solutions to shared problems, as well as to allow a greater and better knowledge of the essential tools for the sustainability of the work developed in their activity.

TRAINER

Adam Thurman
President of Mission Paradox, a marketing and branding consulting firm. He has conducted presentations and workshops for the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the Civic Knowledge Project and the Arts and Business Council. He is also the Marketing Director for one of the largest theaters in the Midwest region of the United States. Adam Thurman has served on the advisory board of the League of Chicago Theatres and has been recognized as an Emerging Leader by Americans For the Arts and Theatre Communication Group.

DESTINATORS

These workshops are aimed at artists, producers, cultural agents, students in the fields of culture, communication and the arts, as well as anyone interested in these topics.

Deadline for registration: May 3, 2013 (Lisbon) / May 7, 2013 (Porto)

Registration is limited to a maximum of 50 participants per session.

Price of workshops: €15, lunch included.
