Universidade de Lisboa will inaugurate the Portuguese Pavilion Tower on Wednesday, 22 May, during a ceremony which starts at 17.00.
With spaces such as the new António Mega Ferreira Library, the Parque das Nações Interpretive Centre and the Universidade de Lisboa Study Room, the inauguration will include speeches by Luís Ferreira, Rector of Universidade de Lisboa, Carlos Moedas, the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Ardisson, Chair of the Parque das Nações local council, Duarte Azinheira, close relatives of António Mega Ferreira, and Beatriz Costa, a student of Universidade de Lisboa.
The final of the 2025 edition of the '3 Minute Thesis' competition will take place after the opening ceremony, followed by a debate as part of Universidade de Lisboa's 'Pensar a Dois Tempos' (Think in Two Times) debate cycle.

- 17.00: Inauguration Ceremony of the Portuguese Pavilion Tower, with a visit to the new Study Room, the António Mega Ferreira Library and the Parque das Nações Interpretive Centre (entrance via the Congress Centre)
- 18.00: '3 Minute Thesis' - Final of the 2025 Competition, in partnership with FLAD - Luso-American Development Foundation and Público newspaper (entrance via the Congress Centre)
- 19h30: 'Sing and tell' debate, as part of the 'Think in Two Times' debate cycle, with Gonçalo M. Tavares and Carlos Tavares (entrance via the Exhibition Centre)
