What it talks about Rather than writing just another book on leadership and the sequence of strategic steps to achieve it, the authors of "Liderar - Gerir vida pessoal, carreira e criar valor" offer a realistic and imperfect look at what it means to be a leader, which transcends the corporate corridors and invades personal life in an integral and balanced way. Carolina Afonso (CEO of Gato Preto) and Sandra Alvarez (managing director of PHD) offer reflections on the difference between being and feeling like a leader, the main characteristics of leaders, the relevance of having objectives, managing priorities and time, the value of self-motivation, the challenge of managing people and the role of feedback, the importance of achieving, the responsibilities of a leader or their commitment to society, working from a position of giveback. In a genuine and close way, and through their respective personal and professional stories, they unveil what their journey as leaders has been like and reveal the layers of 21st century leadership, based on a consistent and indispensable theoretical foundation, and bringing out the human essence behind every decision and action taken. Far from the concept of the untouchable and distant leader, they share their own experiences, with triumphs and challenges, portraying a leadership made up of real people, exposed to doubts, fears and failures, but equally capable of making choices, learning, growing and inspiring. Showing how being a leader is within the reach of anyone who wants to commit to it. More than offering tools for leading teams, the book provides skills for each person to lead themselves towards a more fulfilling life. It is an invitation to explore leadership as a catalyst for change, both professionally and in one's personal life.
