The objective of this training is to provide participants with the skills to master the main Python programming tools and techniques, concentrating on their application for the analysis and exploration of large data sets. The course takes a practical approach, preparing participants for real challenges in research and the job market, with an emphasis on data science processes and data-based decision-making.

Zotero is a tool for efficiently managing, organising and citing bibliographical references. The objective of this training is to teach participants how to install Zotero, organise references, integrate it with text processors, and generate automatic citations in different styles.

Web of Science is a multidisciplinary database that includes more than 20,000 academic journals from all over the world. These journals have been selected by Clarivate according to very strict quality criteria in order to provide reliable information to the research community.

On 5th December, from 16.00 to 18.00, the Library will be holding another training session. This time, the topic will be Research Academy: Qualitative Data Analysis Software: exploring the possibilities of MaxQDA.
This workshop provides an introduction to MaxQDA, focusing on its main features for analysing qualitative data. Participants will gain proficiency in creating projects, importing data, developing code systems, and coding segments. The session will also cover advanced features, such as note writing, automatic coding, visual tools, and data export.
The training will take place both in-person and online (Santander Room, Quelhas), and will be delivered in English by ISEG professor Inês Domingues Figueira de Faria.
