The Student Support Office (GAA) is dedicated to identifying challenges related to the academic integration process, ensuring students’ successful adjustment, and promoting academic success, personal development, and psychological well-being.
The objectives of the Student Support Office (GAA) are the following:
- Provide support in social situations while promoting the integration and academic success of students;
- Promote the health and well-being of students;
- Provide a space where students can talk about their emotional and relational difficulties.
The GAA possesses the necessary psychological support to promote well-being. This work is carried out in conjunction with students to create and implement more autonomous and satisfactory strategies for coping with difficult circumstances. To this end, self-knowledge, autonomy, and problem-solving skills are all worked on. Nevertheless, the following difficulties can be encountered:
- Difficulties in adapting to academic life;
- Anxiety in assessment situations;
- Low academic performance;
- Stressful situations;
- Relational difficulties;
- Social isolation;
- Difficulties in affective relationships;
- Eating and sleep disorders;
- Profound sadness or depression.
Consultations are free of charge and are held on Mondays, from 10am to 1pm, subject to prior booking by email to wellbeing@iseg.ulisboa.pt
